Editorial Policy

Our commitment to accuracy, transparency, and independence in health information.

Our Standards

All articles published on The Chiropractic Guide are researched using peer-reviewed sources and reviewed by registered Australian chiropractors before publication. We are committed to providing accurate, evidence-based information that helps Australians make informed decisions about their healthcare.

Our content is written in plain English, avoiding unnecessary jargon while maintaining scientific accuracy. We use hedged language appropriate for health content — "may help," "evidence suggests," and "research indicates" — rather than making absolute claims about treatment outcomes.

Sources

We cite from reputable sources including:

  • PubMed — Peer-reviewed biomedical literature
  • Cochrane Library — Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
  • Chiropractic Board of Australia — Regulatory standards and guidelines
  • AHPRA — Australian health practitioner regulation
  • World Health Organization — Global health guidance
  • Asia-Pacific Chiropractic Journal — Regional research publications

We maintain a minimum of three citations per 1,000 words of content. All health claims are supported by references to published research or clearly identified as based on clinical experience where evidence is limited.

Review Process

Every article is reviewed by a registered chiropractor with current AHPRA registration before it is published. The review process includes:

  • Verification of all health claims against current evidence
  • Review for appropriate use of hedged language
  • Assessment of whether red flags and contraindications are adequately addressed
  • Confirmation that the content aligns with current chiropractic practice standards

Reviewer credentials are displayed on each article. If an article is pending review, this status is clearly indicated.

AI Disclosure

Some content on this site is drafted with AI assistance and is always reviewed and edited by qualified health professionals before publication. AI tools are never the sole author of published content.

All AI-assisted content undergoes the same rigorous review process as entirely human-written content. The use of AI tools is focused on improving efficiency and consistency, not replacing human expertise.

Corrections

If you identify an error in our content, please contact us. Corrections are made promptly and noted at the bottom of the affected article. We are committed to maintaining the accuracy of our content and welcome reader feedback.

When significant corrections are made, we include a dated note explaining what was changed and why.

Independence

The Chiropractic Guide is editorially independent. We are not affiliated with SOTO Australasia, SORSI, the Chiropractors' Association of Australia, or any professional chiropractic body. Our content is not influenced by advertisers or sponsors.

This independence allows us to provide balanced information about various chiropractic techniques and approaches without bias toward any particular method or organisation.

Conflicts of Interest

Any commercial relationships, including affiliate links or sponsored content, will be clearly disclosed within the relevant content. We do not currently have any such relationships, but if they are established in the future, full transparency will be maintained.

Our reviewers and contributors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest before participating in content creation.

Medical Disclaimer

All content on this site is for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. We include medical disclaimer banners on all health-related content to ensure readers understand that they should consult qualified health professionals for personal medical decisions.
